Whales in Paradise –Whale Watching in Surfers Paradise
Whale watching season on the Gold Coast falls between June and November each year. During these months, thousands of humpback whales make their annual migration to the temperate waters of the Pacific Ocean and there’s plenty of opportunities to view them close up on the Coast’s whale watching tours by boat. For that extra special getaway memory, treat yourself to a Whales in Paradise half day trip from Surfers Paradise jetty just a short stroll from our Surfers Paradise family accommodation.
The tour will take you on a relaxing cruise down the magnificent waterways of Surfers Paradise and the beautiful Nerang River. You can take in spectacular views of the iconic architecture that defines the Surfers Paradise skyline as you glide down river and you’ll also be treated to uninterrupted views of South Stradbroke Island as you make your way to the famous ‘Whale Highway’ of the Gold Coast.
The tour boat is the Mahi Mahi, a specially designed 15 metre catamaran with three whale watching platforms. Watch as these enigmatic but decidedly playful creatures leap elegantly in front on you, slap their magnificent tails against the ocean water and roll in the waves. During your trip, you’ll also have a great opportunity to spot frolicking bottlenose dolphins, seabirds of every size and description, tropical fish and who knows, maybe even killer whales!
Whales in Paradise tours take place twice daily during whale watching season. For more info please visit: http://www.whalesinparadise.com.au/
