Witness as technology and science bring a whole lot of fun and excitement for the entire family at this year’s Gold Coast Science Fair. Happening on 20-21 August 2011 at Bond University, the Gold Coast Science Fair celebrates the of the latest developments in science and technology. Now on its second year, the Science Fair was initially created to showcase innovative local technologies through an interactive programs and events that include hands-on demonstrations, activities and competitions that emphasizes on educating kids and adults alike.

This year’s Gold Coast Science Fair will certainly provide everyone with practical, informative yet fun and exciting learning experience that focuses on the advanced technology and new scientific discoveries. Among the highlights of the Science Fair are the demonstrations and clinics that will be conducted by famous presenters such as American robotics engineer Dr David Hanson; Sports and Conditioning Coach from the Gold Coast Titans, Chris McLellan; and the ever popular boxer and kick-boxer, John Wayne Parr.

Apart from demos and clinics, the Gold Coast Science Fair will also provide a number of workshops that caters to your interests and hobbies. For young aspiring photographers, they can sign up on the Photography Workshop and learn the basics on digital photography. If you want to become the next Nicholas Kurti, you can apply some of ingenious techniques and adequate knowledge on molecular gastronomy at the Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge. Cookery contestants will get a chance to compete for the esteemed title of ‘Catering Student of the Year’. Kids who are interested in engineering and are more inclined in building machines can sign up for the Digital Engineering Marine Challenge where students compete in teams as they design and build their boats. Also, kids and parents can team up to join in Computer Build Off wherein teams must reconstruct a PC in the fastest possible time. Aside from the fastest finishing time, the winning team should also make sure that their computers are in good working condition.
